Lecithin

Lecithin, or phosphatidylcholine, is a supplement that is sometimes recommended for MS. It is involved in several body processes and is a major component of cell membranes. Supplements of lecithin are made from soybean oil. At this time, there are no studies to indicate that lecithin therapy is beneficial to people with MS. Its safety has not been extensively studied. High doses (greater than 20 grams daily) may cause nausea, diarrhea, urinary incontinence, and a fishy odor.
