The University of Colorado’s MS Clinic was founded in 1997 by Dr. John Corboy. In 2008 Dr. Tim Vollmer joined Dr. Corboy as the Co-Director of the MS Clinic where today more than 20 physicians, nurses, therapists and staff serve multiple sclerosis patients across the Rocky Mountain region. Those who live with MS benefit from meticulous care provided by fellowship-trained physicians who have elected to specialize in multiple sclerosis.
The Clinic is located on the 5th Floor of the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion (1635 Aurora Court, Aurora, CO 80010) and offers state-of-the-art diagnostic services, treatment, multi-discliplinary management of the many symptoms and complications that may arise in MS patients, and access to clinical trials and other research programs. Services include neuro-opthamology, neuro-radiology, neuro-urology, neuro-otology, speech pathology, physical therapy, behavioral neurology, and full infusion services.
State of the art equipment includes two 3.0 Tesla MRI scanners. The strength of the average MRI scanner is 1.5. The most modern lab equipment and testing available is used to rule out disorders that mimic MS. MS patients are advantaged by a range of services to treat symptoms including fatigue, movement and balance disorders, cognitive disfunction, vision and speech problems, and issues with bladder and bowel function.
