April 18-24, 2021 is National Volunteer Week! Please join us as we thank the wonderful volunteers who help us fulfill our mission: To improve the quality of life of individuals and their families living with MS and related neurological diseases through care, support, education and research. #NVW
On paper, the role of a Board Member for a nonprofit organization is: “ fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance, and financial management policies, as well as by making sure the nonprofit has adequate resources to advance its mission.” However, our Board Members are so much more. Each of the community members that volunteer their time to be on the Board of Directors is the heartbeat of our organization.
In particular, it is important to highlight this group of volunteers as they led us through this last year. Our Board Members were tasked with leading and supporting the organization to ensure the continued delivery of valuable programs and services that community relies upon through a global pandemic. Each of the Board Members volunteered countless hours to steer the organization through these challenges and they supported RMMSC staff through unprecedented changes. What did not change, was our Board Members’ commitment to supporting the MS Community and people that rely upon the RMMSC.
