April 20-26, 2025 is National Volunteer Week! Please join us as we thank the wonderful volunteers who help us fulfill our mission: To improve the quality of life of individuals and their families living with MS and related neurological diseases through care, support, education and research. #NVW
As a member of our MS Young Professionals Network (MSYPN), Francie started volunteering in January of 2019 when she was diagnosed with MS. When asked why she chose to volunteer, Francie said, “I appreciated the opportunity to give back to an organization that has done so much for me! Since I can’t work, volunteering provides me an avenue to still feel like I can “do something” to help contribute to the world. Selfishly, it has also given me the opportunity to learn more about MS as well as fellow MSers. At the time I was diagnosed, I didn’t know anything about or anyone with MS; through my volunteer work with the MS Center, I’ve met a lot of good connections and great friends!”
The MSYPN is an easy and fun way for young professionals with MS, with a connection to MS, or who have an interest in volunteering to get involved with the Rocky Mountain MS Center. Our meetups include networking opportunities, updates on research and education, planning fundraising events, and MS support. MSYPN members also volunteer at various Rocky Mountain MS Center programs and events.
Francie is always happy to help, she brings such good energy to any event, and she is passionate about helping others. Not only does she come to all of our MSYPN meetups, she also serves on our MS4MS Committee, participates in our educational events, and recently spoke at the capitol for Chronic Care Advocacy Day. We’re so grateful to have Francie as an MS Center volunteer!
