The Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center (“RMMSC”) is a patient- and family-centered nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive and integrated wellness approach to MS and related diseases, life-changing support services, education programming, and cutting-edge research.
Position: Finance and Operations Coordinator
Reports to: CEO, with supervision of accounting work by Contract Controller
Status: Hourly, Full-Time
Position Summary: The Finance and Operations Coordinator provides essential accounting, operational, and administrative support to all areas of Rocky Mountain MS Center operations.
Core Responsibilities
Accounting:
- Accounts Payable: transaction posting, weekly bill paying and related accurate reporting of cash position, contact with vendors, related account reconciliations and analysis. Keeps vendor data current and accurate.
- Accounts Receivable: invoices and cash receipts posting, related account reconciliations and analysis. Keeps client and donor data current and accurate.
- Reconciliation of bank, staff credit card and loan accounts.
- Monthly processing of staff credit card expenses and reimbursement requests.
- Monthly reconciliation of donation receipts to fundraising database.
Program:
- Support fee-based programs with accurate and timely reporting and recordkeeping, including direct contact with medical billing personnel, clients and program vendors as needed.
- Coordinate move-in, move-out, and maintenance needs associated with program intern housing.
Administrative:
- Human Resources and Benefits support: benefits administration, background checks, and license verifications, manage annual open enrollment, time management system administration and related tasks.
- Administrative support to CEO and senior leadership team, including calendar and communications assistance and meeting planning.
- Compile staff data to create activity matrix for board meetings.
- Office management: supplies orders, telephones, mail, visitors, and other front-desk and office duties.
Knowledge and Skills
- One to two years of accounting education, or equivalent experience, preferred.
- Experience with QuickBooks desktop accounting software is preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A fondness for working with numbers, including meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Self-motivated, creative problem solver. Experienced in juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Impeccable integrity, including ability to work independently with confidential data.
- Ability to attend occasional evening and weekend events.
- Ability to travel locally for events and errands. Must have access to a vehicle and maintain driver’s license and insurance.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range for this position is $23.00 to $26.00 commensurate with experience. Work Environment
We have a hybrid office and remote work environment. The position will require 1-2 days per week in our office in Westminster, Colorado. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required for programs and events.
