We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to those who attended the Rocky Mountain MS Center Gala on September 16. Our largest annual fundraising event was a tremendous success, and your generous support will help ensure that we’re able to continue our mission far into the future.
InforMS readers are well aware that many of the most common MS symptoms are invisible to the outside world, but have a profound effect on the daily lives of those living with the disease. A familiar and diffcult challenge faced by so many MS patients is simply helping those around them understand what it’s really like to live with MS. This year’s Gala highlighted “Expressions of MS,” a deeper look into the realities of living with MS for those who aren’t able to experience it themselves.
Denver artist Sarah Richter’s life was changed when she was diagnosed with MS, but she’s made it her mission to express MS through her art. Sarah’s artwork was the centerpiece of a remarkable video presentation (see below) focusing on the ways we communicate with friends, family and loved ones about living with this disease.
The Gala is our largest single fundraiser of the year, with 100% of funds raised staying right here in Colorado to benefit the programs and services offered by the RMMSC. the Gala brings together Colorado’s philanthropic community as well as physicians, volunteers, family and friends of the RMMSC.
We would like to thank our Presenting Sponsor, Denver Life Magazine, for their generous support of the Gala. Other major sponsors of the Gala include: Genentech (Platinum Sponsor); Colorado State Bank and Trust, The Denver Post and UC Health (Gold Sponsors).
