Multiple sclerosis is a complex disease, affecting not just mobility and sensation but also cognition, energy levels, and overall well-being. Symptoms may shift, sometimes triggered by stress, heat, or fatigue; other times, symptoms might arise with no clear cause. This feeling of unpredictability often leaves people wondering: How much control do I really have over my own health?

In this MS Awareness Month issue of InforMS, we’ll brush up on some of the basics behind MS and the brain, then explore the kinds of lifestyle choices and strategies that can have deep and lasting impacts on our brains — and their ability to combat MS.
